January 22nd 2014:
Hi everyone! It’s been a really crazy week.
Last Wednesday I started PT for the first time in years. My physical therapist said we have a lot to work on. Unfortunately we also got some bad news. My husband’s work hours have been cut. Last year we signed up for section 8 though our children’s therapist company. We were told to start packing when the government decided to shut it down. We were devastated. We ended up moving out of my mother-in-law’s house anyways.
So on Thursday, I received a call to go in Friday and we got accepted!!! We had to have an inspection of our place to make sure that it stood up to the standards. Oh my, do you know how hard it is to make a three bedroom apartment spotless with a one year old and a three year old? Every time we got something cleaned they were messing up another area. Plus, I don’t know about you guys but the hardest cleaning things for me to do are: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning tubs. Well lucky me, my amazing mother came and helped me clean the bathrooms. Of course because things started to look good our vacuum died before we were able to vacuum the house. We were able to borrow a neighbor’s vacuum luckily!!! I just finished as the inspector arrive. Now understand that we still had Shy and Izzy home and we had to babysit a third child Monday. We also had to do mine and my little brother’s birthday dinner, Jerry still had work, and we had to get Izzy to and from school. Talk about a crazy week! Oh and not to forget we still had to do Shy’s speech Tuesday morning.
Well lucky for us we are approved. And Jerry had today off. I went with my mom for my PT appointment. I have a lot to do! The PT thinks that she can get it to where I don’t have nearly the gait that I do. She also says she can have me walking backwards and even climbing down the stairs backwards! We will see where I am in six months. I am also applying for long term Medicaid in order to get some house cleaning help and a nurse to help me with keeping a eye on my leg. I get blisters so easily and they take forever to heal.
On the plus side, this week on Monday, January 20th Shyanne said her first sentence! It was “uncle did it”!!! Super proud of her.
Please feel free to ask questions or even make suggestions on what you would like to read from me. I will be posting pictures as soon as I get a good one of us or I find one with all four of us.
