Wonderful turnout for our picnic in Wash Park!
What’s a support group anyways?
Merriam-Webster defines a support group as “a group of people with common experiences and concerns who provide emotional and moral support for one another.” This definition is very broad, yet when we think of a “support group” it’s inevitable that many of us picture the more narrow idea of people sitting on plastic chairs forming a circle in a blank and generic room. LIM359 strives to expand this constricted view of a support group. We believe that organizing group activities will allow an organic growth of emotional and moral support among participants. Instead of sitting in a circle at every meeting, we want our members to support each other while enjoying a picnic in the park, learning how to swing a golf club, or attending a baseball game. Through these shared experiences, we hope that our members will feel supported by each other while enjoying all that life has to offer. The time to expand the mental image of what it means to be a support group is now and LIM359 is leading the charge towards this positive change.
